On November 5, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Equipment Co., Ltd. Turbine Plant completed and shipped China's first single intermediate steam reheating turbine for Kangheng Sanhe waste-to-energy project.

The Sanhe project is the first domestically to use such a turbine, which leads in thermal performance, stability and reliability, and automation when generating energy from waste. The Turbine Plant has made the project signed in last October a priority and assembled a team of top experts. The successful shipment of the most technically demanding waste-to-energy turbine reflects Shanghai Electric's superb strength in this field.

With a total input of around 1.4 billion yuan, the Sanhe project in Hebei Province consists of two 30MW turbine generators, able to deal with 730,000 tonnes of household waste and generate 320 million kWh of electricity every year. The turbines will be installed next month to ensure smooth operations before the Spring Festival and supply electricity for local citizens through the cold winter.
