At 18:18, November 11, Datang Dongying Power Plant completed a 168-hour full-load trial operation for the No.1 Unit of its 2x1000MW project with satisfactory results. All three main engines of the plant are provided by Shanghai Electric, involving one world-first and ten China-first innovative integration technologies.

The single-axis six-cylinder six-exhaust turbine, the first of its kind worldwide, features lower heat consumption than the five-cylinder four-exhaust version, and ranks first globally in both axis length (59.5 m) and weight (457 tonnes). The boiler with a new layout boasts high combustion efficiency and low emission, as well as remarkable steady low-load combustion, start & stop, and peak load regulation. Mature 1000MW generators are selected, and advanced axial-flow ventilation guarantees efficient ventilation and low temperature rise. A simple structure makes operations and maintenance easy and convenient.

As the first 1000MW power plant built by Datang Shandong Power Generation Co., Ltd., the project plans to set four 1000MW thermal power units (two for Phase I). With environmental protection facilities of desulfuration, denitration, and dedusting, it can meet ultra-low emission standards.
