On the afternoon of June 21, Leng Weiqing, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, held a meeting with Yang Jinsong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Shendi (Group) Co., Ltd. (Shendi Group) to exchange views on deepening cooperation to expand business. Liu Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shanghai Electric Group, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shendi Group, were present.

Leng Weiqing stated that as a large-scale, high-end, comprehensive equipment manufacturer, Shanghai Electric has been continuously pursuing the “dual-carbon” goals in response to its own needs for green and low-carbon transformation. Shanghai Electric and Shendi Group share similar cultures, concepts, and goals. The two parties can join hands to leverage the advantages as Shanghai’s state-owned enterprises and strengthen exchanges, mutual learning, and empowerment. By integrating industrial DNA with cultural and tourism IPs, and adhering to the principles of high-standard design, construction, and development, the two groups can create a green cooperative project as an industry demonstration with social influence. This will help build an international tourism city of Shanghai during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period.

Yang Jinsong said that since its establishment, Shendi Group has been consolidating its main businesses and practicing the concept of high-quality development. It focuses on building a high-quality world-class tourist resort that is based in Shanghai, radiates across the country and has global influence. Shendi Group and Shanghai Electric, both state-owned enterprises in Shanghai, also regard “carbon reduction and zero emissions” as the future direction of corporate development in the new era. It is hoped that the two enterprises can deepen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of green and low-carbon initiatives, energy management, and brand collaboration. This will promote the green development of the Shanghai International Tourism Resort and jointly create a low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and intelligently managed urban cultural and tourism landmark, highlighting “Shanghai Manufacturing” and “Shanghai Culture,” the two iconic aspects of the city.

Present at the meeting were Jin Xiaolong, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Shanghai Electric, Wang Qingguo, Vice President of Shendi Group, as well as relevant subordinate company leaders and department heads.
