On November 27, the 2020 Energy Transformation Forum and the 10th Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises Summit, co-hosted by China Energy News, were held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. The event unveiled the 2020 Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises List, in which Shanghai Electric ranked 34th, 35 places up from the previous year. Shanghai Electric has been included among top 100 for six years in a row.

Since the launch of the "three-step" strategy, Shanghai Electric has been accelerating energy transformation intelligently and solving new energy challenges by making the entire manufacturing value chain intelligent. With presences in solar energy, wind energy, biomass power generation, hydrogen energy, energy storage, and distributed energy, Shanghai Electric has shaped a digital, competitive network of new energy business. Shanghai Electric is speeding up quality expansion overseas, with the proportion of new energy equipment and engineering orders increasing significantly and solar power generation business accepted in the high-end markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Japan in the first half.

Jointly released by China Energy News and China Institute of Energy Economics, the Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises List is designed to provide an authoritative evaluation of the new energy industry. This year's finalists come from 38 countries and regions, including 207 from China. The list has become an indicator of the essential features, latest changes, and important trends of the global new energy industry. Players engaged in solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, energy storage, tidal energy, and ocean energy are evaluated and ranked by their revenues last year.
