On April 16 local time, Wu Lei, Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, led a delegation to visit the Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, where he held talks with Ambassador Chang Hua. The two sides reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation in the energy sector and promoting the global green energy transition.

Ambassador Chang welcomed Wu Lei and his delegation, and fully affirmed the breakthroughs Shanghai Electric has achieved in China-Saudi energy cooperation. He noted that as a major energy country in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to energy transition and sustainable development, and is actively seeking partnerships with top global energy enterprises to jointly advance the diversification and green transformation of its energy structure. He expressed hope that Shanghai Electric will continue to deepen its presence in the local market under the dual frameworks of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and further elevate the China-Saudi comprehensive strategic partnership.

Wu Lei thanked the Chinese Embassy for its long-standing care and support. He stated that as a global leader in energy equipment manufacturing and integrated solutions, Shanghai Electric has accumulated extensive experience in the Middle Eastern market. He added that under Vision 2030, the Saudi government is vigorously promoting the development of renewable energy, providing broad opportunities for cooperation between Shanghai Electric and Saudi enterprises in fields such as new energy power generation and energy storage. Shanghai Electric will fully leverage its comprehensive advantages in technology, products, and services to drive the implementation of more high-quality, high-benefit cooperation projects.
