To celebrate the 10th anniversary of being named as UNESCO City of Design, Shanghai has held a series of theme activities during November 20-22. Shanghai Electric, a "Made in Shanghai" leader that delivers top industrial design, met the audience at the "Power Industry with Design" exhibition area. Mr. Xiao Guiyu (Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress), Mr. Jin Xingming (Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee), and Mr. Chen Mingbo (Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipality), accompanied by Mr. Lu Xiaochun (Party Secretary of the Working Committee of Economy and Informatization of Shanghai Municipality) and Mr. Ruan Li (Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission), viewed Shanghai Electric's solutions for intelligent lithium battery plant and expressed their wish of seeing more intelligent manufacturing achievements from Shanghai Electric.

With world-leading lithium battery production technologies and products, Shanghai Electric can provide an integrated digital plant solution involving everything from cells and modules to PACK and testing, and to production and logistics. To demonstrate the beauty of industrial design, a sand table of the intelligent lithium battery plant was presented, and it includes coater, roll slitting machine, and laser slitting-winding machine. The intelligent Internet-based production line with automatic, flexible operation is uniquely well positioned, with room for future extension and upgrade. It can satisfy the development of customized products with new processes. Shanghai Electric is the first in the industry to deliver total line solutions, and over 20 production lines have been completed so far.

Ten years ago in 2010, Shanghai officially joined UNESCO "Creative Cities Network" (UCCN) to be a "City of Design".
