On the morning of June 26 local time, Wu Lei, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, held talks with Ahmet Cengiz, Chairman of Türkiye’s CENGIZ ENERGY Group. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics including the global energy transition, joint development of new energy projects, collaboration in high-end energy equipment industries, and coordinated expansion into overseas markets. Ahmet Türko?lu, Chief Executive Officer of CENGIZ ENERGY Group, also attended the meeting.
Wu Lei introduced Shanghai Electric’s industrial layout, technological innovation achievements, and international development strategy. He stated that Türkiye and the broader Eurasian region are important components of Shanghai Electric’s overseas strategy. Shanghai Electric and CENGIZ ENERGY Group share a solid foundation for cooperation and strong industrial complementarity. Over the years, the two sides have jointly developed energy projects by leveraging their respective resource advantages, earning a strong reputation within the industry. Shanghai Electric will continue to leverage its own strengths and explore diversified cooperation models with CENGIZ ENERGY Group in areas such as integrated mining development and energy engineering, jointly seizing the market opportunities arising from the global energy transition.
Ahmet Cengiz welcomed Wu Lei and his delegation. He noted that the global transition to green and low-carbon energy is accelerating, while demand for energy infrastructure upgrades in Eurasia continues to grow, creating broad prospects for deeper cooperation between the two companies. The two companies have worked together for two decades, consistently focusing on the sustainable energy sector, with highly aligned development philosophies and industrial strategies. He expressed hope that both sides would continue to strengthen the foundation of cooperation, break through barriers in technology, resources, and markets, and foster deeper collaboration in areas including the implementation of new energy projects, green upgrading of traditional energy, and joint construction of overseas engineering projects.
Heads of relevant functional departments and affiliated enterprises of both sides also attended the meeting.
