On April 29, Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group successfully issued its 2022 green medium-term bond in the interbank market as the first green bond for wind power sector in the Yangtze River Delta.

The green medium-term bond amounted to 750 million yuan, with a term of 3 years and a fixed interest rate of 3.18%. Its proceeds will be used to return loans. Covering green projects such as new energy power generation and wind turbine manufacturing, it is expected to directly reduce carbon dioxide emissions of 154,000 tons per year, sulfur dioxide emissions of 30.72 tons, nitrogen oxides emissions of 34.36 tons, and soot emissions of 6.14 tons, and replace 58,500 tons of standard coal; to indirectly reduce carbon dioxide emissions of 3,351,200 tons, sulfur dioxide emissions of 800 tons, nitrogen oxides emissions of 895 tons, and soot emissions of 160 tons, and replace 1,524,500 tons of standard coal. With the successful issuance of the green medium-term bond, the Wind Power Group will make further strategic planning, accelerate its development, boost the advancement of the wind power industry, and contribute to the achievement of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
