Recently, the delegation of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the Chinese Consulate in Karachi inspected the Thar Block-I Integrated Coal Mine and Power Project of Shanghai Electric.

The delegation visited the Block-I coal mine and the power station project under construction. At the subsequent meeting, the management and subcontractors of Block-I reported the progress of construction. The delegates acknowledged Shanghai Electric’s dedication to work despite all these difficulties during the pandemic period, and praised the project for exposing the #A coal seam successfully. The delegation also conveyed the concern of Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong to all Chinese employees, and put forward specific requirements and guidance for future project work and Party building. In addition, the delegation watched the football match between Block-I and Block-II, and presented awards to excellent players and teams.

Before then, the #A coal seam of Thar Block-I coal mine in Pakistan had been successfully exposed on January 30 local time, providing a solid support for the subsequent coal consumption of Thar power station. To achieve this major milestone, the project department had actively organized 8 units respectively engaged in coal stripping, underground drainage, heavy oil power generation, equipment maintenance, etc., to discuss and research on the project construction technical program, project construction organization and other issues. Each unit had performed its responsibilities in strict accordance with the implementation program in terms of the project schedule, equipment support and safety measures, and closely coordinated and cooperated with other units. This major milestone had been successfully completed after approximately one month of intense work.
