The Yangtze River Delta Top 100 Enterprises List was officially revealed on November 20, 2019 in Shanghai. Shanghai Electric ranked 39th on the list and claimed the 21st spot on the Yangtze River Delta Top 100 Manufacturers List.

The ranking was jointly compiled and released by business federations from the three provinces (Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Anhui) and one municipality (Shanghai) in the Yangtze River Delta region. The candidates were selected on the basis of their annual revenue in 2018. By publicly recognizing leading enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region, the list aims to help foster regional integration for high-quality development as well as collaboration and synergy among enterprises within the region.

As revealed from the list, Shanghai Electric generated RMB 114.52 billion of revenue in 2018, much higher than the minimum of RMB 50.93 billion required to make the final cut. This represents Shanghai Electric's first step toward making its "three-step" strategy a success.

As a leading equipment manufacturer in China, Shanghai Electric has actively responded to the government's Yangtze River Delta Integration Strategy. By identifying where to look and what actions to take to realize its innovation-oriented transformation and its non-local business presence, the company has sketched a blueprint for the long-term development of high-end manufacturing in the region since last year. At present, the company has acquired 100% shares of two hazardous waste treatment companies in the region. Shanghai Electric has also finished groundbreaking and started construction for a number of projects, including the Nantong Energy Storage Base and Shanghai Electric Nantong Central Academe. Additionally, the company is one of the major contributors to the region's high-quality development initiatives such as industrial Internet identifier resolution.
