Invested by Beijing Energy Group, FutureCity Power Plant plans a gas-steam combined cycle power generation heating unit consisting of an E-grade gas turbine, with multi-shaft arrangment. The gas turbine uses Shanghai Electric V94.2 gas turbine, the steam turbine adopts the atypical design of split-cylinder back pressure which is an improvement on the conventional condensing solution. The steam turbine unit is divided into two cylinders, the high-pressure module and the low-pressure module are connected by a clutch, this is also the first NCB steam turbine unit running with E-class gas turbine. The unit passed the 96-hour trial run on July 3, 2014. In July 2018, Beijing Energy Future City Gas Thermal Power Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric signed a service contract for gas turbine HGPI and upgrade.
