Shanghai-Fanuc Robotics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai-Fanuc") Smart Factory (Phase III) opening ceremony was held in Baoshan, Shanghai on November 8th.

Nearly 1,000 government, business and industry representatives attended the ceremony, including Liu Ping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shanghai Electric Group, Yoshiharu Inaba, President of Fanuc, Wang Nai, Standing Committee Member of CPC Baoshan District Committee and Deputy Governor of Baoshan District, Kenji Yamaguchi, Director of Fanuc, and Wang Qiang, President of Shanghai Robot Industry Association.

As a major project in Shanghai, the construction of Shanghai-Fanuc Smart Factory (Phase III) started in 2020. The project covers an area of 431 mu, with a building area of 300,000 square meters, a total investment of about RMB 1.58 billion, and the annual output value is expected to exceed RMB 10 billion. With the introduction of advanced intelligent manufacturing technologies such as collaborative robots, mobile robots, digital twins, etc., the automation rate of the entire line of the smart factory exceeds 95%, enabling unmanned intelligent production. After the Phase III of the project is put into operation, it will provide the world's leading intelligent manufacturing solutions and technical services for downstream application enterprises. With functions of education and training, display of advanced equipment for intelligent manufacturing, sales, etc., it will be a high-end smart factory integrating research and development, manufacturing, display, sales, system integration, and after-sales service.

In his speech, Liu Ping expressed his heartfelt thanks to Shanghai and Baoshan for their full support during the construction of Shanghai-Fanuc Smart Factory Phase III. Industrial robots are the core equipment of intelligent manufacturing, and also the strategic field of global industrial technology upgrading. In recent years, Shanghai has been promoting the manufacturing industry to a higher level while building an innovation highland with global influence and competitiveness for the robotics industry, providing unlimited opportunities for Shanghai Electric’s high-quality, green, low-carbon and intelligent development.
