Shanghai released its academic / technological program lists of the 2020 “Technology Innovation Action Plan” not long ago. The program “Development of AC-DC Hybrid Grid Energy Router” by Shanghai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Group was selected after the online review by professionals and face-to-face assessment.

The program aims to combine magnetic materials with power electronic converters coupled with state-of-the-art numerical control to change traditional transformers from passive and single-port control to active and multi-port (AC and DC) control. The AC-DC hybrid grid energy router is the centric component for the hybrid electricity network, and plays a strategic role for grid development in coming years.

Shanghai Science and Technology Committee sets up the “Technology Innovation Action Plan” to enhance the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, the building of a world-class innovation center, and the education and selection of high-end talents who can boost Shanghai’s development with world-leading technologies. It funds 150 programs in Shanghai this year.
