On December 5, a signing ceremony was held in Shanghai to mark the strategic cooperation between Shanghai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Group and Hubei Industrial Construction Group Co., Ltd (HICC). Chen Ganjin (Vice President of Shanghai Electric) and Hu Dan (HICC GM) attended the ceremony.

The strategic partnership marks a key measure of the group to expand into central China by leveraging its experience and advantages in EPC, power transmission and distribution, smart energy solutions, and rail transit. It will lay a solid foundation for the group and even Shanghai Electric to increase market share and pursue steady growth in the region.

The first cooperative project will be Hubei Daye High-tech Industrial Park. With a total investment of over 5 billion yuan, the park will procure electromechanical equipment by stages. Shanghai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Group will become a subcontractor, realizing an estimated sales of 800 million yuan.

Wuhan, a major industrial city in central China, boasts advantages in manufacturing, industrial foundation, geographical location, and talent. It is an attractive destination for Shanghai Electric in industrial transformation and capacity shift. In rail transit, Shanghai Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Group has also demonstrated powerful capabilities of product manufacturing, system integration, and smart O&M. It provides over half of electrical equipment for ten Wuhan metro lines (Line 1 - Line 10). During the cooperation, the group will play a key role in improving the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain.
