The Senj Wind Farm recently had its first wind turbine hoisted. This Croatia's biggest electricity project is undertaken by Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd., and the wind turbine is one of the first batch marketed to Europe under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The 45 km2 wind farm has a total installed capacity of 156MW, and upon completion, it is estimated to operate 3,400 hours and generate 530 million kWh every year. A total of 39 Shanghai Electric 4MW wind turbines are used. With its signing witnessed by Premier Li Keqiang, the project, as part of the "16+1 Cooperation" between China and Central and Eastern European countries, marks Chinese enterprises' largest investment in Croatia with far-reaching implications as a model project.
