On April 25, a signing ceremony that celebrates strategic cooperation in the development and exploitation of the Qiqihar Wind Power Project was held in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang. A framework agreement for 1GW wind power project was entered into among Shanghai Electric, China First Heavy Industries, and the Qiqihar government.

Under provincial guidelines for wind power development and taking into account the situations and advantages of Qiqihar, three parties will develop and build locally a wind power project not smaller than 1GW while ensuring wind power accommodation.

The three parties will make full use of their respective advantages and integrate superior resources to achieve win-win cooperation. The project will significantly promote local economic development and energy transformation, and set a prime example for strong collaboration between companies and governments. The three parties also undertake to promote project implementation through better communication and cooperation. This will provide a strong impetus to Qiqihar in building a comprehensive demonstration zone of renewable energy sources and reducing factor costs, and inject new vitality to the city in offsetting the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and maintaining a stable industry supply chain.

Some 60 representatives were in attendance at the ceremony.
