Project information:

To accelerate the digital transformation and improvement of enterprises and better serve local enterprises, the Bishan District Government of Chongqing Municipality decided to launch an Industrial Internet project using its technology and applications. With the goal of ¡°rooting in industries, pursuing intelligent manufacturing and upgrades, serving Bishan, and benefiting West China,¡± in September 2020, the Management Committee of the Bishan High-tech Industrial Development Zone, together with Shanghai Electric Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Liangshan Science and Technology Co., Ltd., established the Western Industrial Internet Empowerment Center. Under this project, an Industrial Internet platform was built to provide enterprises with a wide range of services surrounding the consultation and execution of digital transformation, Industrial Internet empowerment and application, production optimization and intelligent manufacturing upgrade. An integrated service platform and a sustainable ecology were jointly built to harness the advantages of all three partners: policy guidance by the government, Shanghai Electric's digital transformation capabilities, resources, services, and ecosystem, and the continuous operation and marketing by Liangshan with its technology and human resources.

Based on local management committees, industry alliances and enterprises in Chongqing, as well as Shanghai Electric¡¯s industrial clusters, the project was centered on the core capabilities of the SEunicloud industrial Internet platform, as well as a large number of industry-proven applications. Running through the entire production process of ¡°research, production, supply, sales and service,¡± solutions were developed for services targeting industrial automation, intelligent manufacturing, shared resources, supply finance, information engineering, and more, covering dozens of sectors and users specializing in electrical appliances, mechanical processing, auto and motorcycle parts, abrasive tools, 3C, etc. All these efforts were intended to help companies fulfill their goals of reducing costs, increasing efficiency, improving quality, saving energy, and protecting the environment.

Benefits for customers

The Western Industrial Internet Empowerment Center outputs using the core capabilities of the Industrial Internet platform, the experience in digital transformation, and the resources of ecological partners. By empowering the entire production life cycle covering ¡°research, production, supply, sales, and services,¡± it enables enterprises in the region to make significant improvements to their manufacturing capacity, operating efficiency, customer acquisition channels, product quality, and supply & circulation. At the same time, it provides the local government with macro data which can be used to guide policy implementation.

For large enterprises, enterprise-level platforms have been tailored to integrate internal business systems, production factors and other heterogeneous data from varied sources; platform-level applications have been developed for many purposes such as corporate operation optimization, customer service improvement, upstream-downstream supply chain management and control, in order to improve enterprises¡¯ capabilities for digital operation and management. For small and medium-sized businesses, applications available in the platform app store, such as manufacturing operations management (MOM), enterprise asset management (EAM), energy consumption management, data governance, prognostics and health management (PHM), and post-service, allow such enterprises to quickly move to the platform and access lightweight services, for the purpose of fast growth in small steps and rapid transformation. Specifically, the platform: improves employee productivity through mobile data access and auxiliary processes; raises office management efficiency through mobile applications; speeds up operation processes through process automation management; drives business growth through multi-dimensional data visualization; learns about customer demands and optimizes customer experience through big data analysis; increases corporate revenue through the digital upgrade of products and the digital extension of services; accelerates the information flow of products, production, services, and finance by optimizing supply chains; and shapes new business models and value growth pillars through the innovative and coordinated development of the ecosystem.
