As the cradle of the first power manufacturing base since the establishment of the PRC, Shanghai Electric is a name inscribed in China's industrial history. More than 100 years ago, Jiangnan Manufacturing Bureau was established during the Westernization Movement. The Shanghai Dalong Machinery Works, which was established in 1902, was Shanghai Electric's first large-scale enterprise and the origin of its spirit and brand story.
